Got Phone Call today from Dish Nazi Audit team

I don't agree. This could easily be/have been taken care of through technology, but Dish chooses to harass their customers instead.

Would anyone shop at a store where you were mislead, lied to and treated like a criminal? Would you dare treat your customers this way? Of course not! The really sad part is that Dish knows the tactics these a**holes use, but turns a blind eye to them. It's inexcusable. :mad:

The rudeness is not acceptable in any sense of the word, its the audit itsself that is a required evil that Im talking about. As far as technology that is out there that would bypass the need for an audit I dont see anything that would allow for this short of having the phone atached to the receiver and it dials out randomly once a month. Theres no way that I know of for dish to see inside your home if you have all the receivers there and if you've modified the system to get more than what your supposed to get though its a bit easier to hit a modded box.

The phone line requirement is archaic and obsolete. If Dish is really serious about stopping account sharing then they need what I would call an "authorization module". This module sits between the receivers and the dish/switches. It contains keys that are issued to the receiver on activation, the receiver must see this module to function and every module has different keys. Dish could even include a GPS chip-set in the module so if it is moved more than X yards the module requires reactivation. All or some of this could have been built into the DP and DPP equipment, but Dish chose to be cheap and short sighted instead.

I will have them apologize and tell them I am switching anyways unless they make up for their rudeness. They better not dare call me ever EVER again. My phone lines are hooked up and I hope they can support the wireless internet phone systems too bc if they do not and they start calling me again then GOODBYE DISH NETWORK and HELLO DIRECTV!

Enough is enough and I am not going to tolerate some mean folks calling me often aggervating me on the phone. It is NOT worth having their service if I have to put up with that when I can go somewhere else. I know that a lot of my customers would not tolerate it either and have switched for far less persuaded reasons than this.

It is Dish Network's fault for not having a system in place to begin with, not the customer's fault! Lets go with the authorization module for crying out loud. Or better yet one receiver that allows you to hook in the number of tuners you need and share the computer hardware and hard drive with all the tv's. This would save Dish money and put a stop to this crap.
 
What about all the cancelled installs or the hours you spend on line with so call CS only to find out they do not know what they are talking about I do not see them reinbursing me for my time.

Ok. I have been a DN sub for 8 years..I ahve been in the sat bus for almost as long...what is the DN audit team?.What do they do?..If you are a legit sub, you should have nothing ot worry about, no?

Oh yeah??? :mad: I have been with DISH for 8 years. I pay my bills on time. I have done EVERYTHING legit!!! Guess what. I got a call today and had to go through the stupid exercise of having to read receiver numbers and other stuff on my four receivers. They're getting an awful amount of money and loyalty from me to treat me like this!
 
The problem with the Dish Gestapo (better than calling them Nazis?) is that they are only harassing legit customers. They don't have a phone number to call for all the people who are stealing their services, so there goes that argument.

As mentioned above, the problem is rooted in the cheapness of Dish. If Chuckie, et. al. were willing to spend what it took to build and implement decent technology, their revenues would be safe. The keys and locks available are NOT new technology, they have been around in one form or another for years.

Yes, there will be thieves that will steal from Dish, no matter what they do, but charging customers extra charges and harassing the hell out of them, is not THE way to cure that. What they are doing now is just pissing people off and expecting legit people to pay to make up for their being cheap.

Well said Stargazer! If they ever call me again I'll go through the audit, pass, and then cancel my service. There is no reason anyone should have to put up with this crap! It's a sorry company that takes a problem they refuse to properly address and shoves it off on their customers.

There is a simple solution to the audit problem - restricting the amount of receivers on one account, let say to 3 or 4 or any reasonable number.

If someone wants more, then he/she will have to open another account :)

Now there is no need in audit team at all. And it's not a E* business where receivers are really located physically.
 
No Big Deal

I just got an audit call. I have 5 receivers. It was painless. I have nothing to hide! I only have 2 receivers hooked to phone lines. They didn't say i had to hook them up only that if i did there wouldn't be a need to update info. Person was pleasant. I understand why they do it and they do have a right to protect their services. For me the audit call was no big deal.

I, at 1 time had 6 irds then i found out through the lovely team all this discussion is about that one could have 8 irds if you'll jump through hoops and pay the installer 100 dollar extra per ird over 6 to make a activation phone call

this is where all my problems started the website lets you add 2 dns cities but in acuallity 5 dns cities can be added
and for me this is where it snowballed and you all know the result if not read my sig.
I still expect to hear from them with my 1 ird on my account

2 out of 5 irds hooked to phone lines and you have nothing to hide lol.
they didn't tell you they need to be hooked to phone lines because you neglected to tell them that 3 of the 5 irds are not hooked into the phone line
If you told them all phone lines are not utilized you would have FAILED

this is one of their main requirements they would have deactivated the irds not hooked in to phone line, if you don't have enough jacks they tell you to buy wireless phone jacks
2 out of 5 = FAIL every time

when i went through my series of audits i was told in no uncertain terms if all my phone lines aren't plugged in 100% of the time the irds not plugged in it would be deactivated until i could provide a phone jack for them to pass the audit

that was the first thing they told me
 
Again what can i say? I went through all the info he wanted in a timely fashion He said my account was up to date. He knew and i knew it was an audit I have had five or six receivers for over 5 years now. I h ave a 622 install on the 25th so the tech will see them all too. Sometimes these threads are SO negative. IF they want to pay for wireless jacks i have no problem and now were does it say the old receivers have to be hooked to a phone line. The new ones do and those two i have hooked to a phone line. I think if the were going to be turning off me off they would tell me that.

Nazi is commonly used as a synonym for "fascist", a totalitarian form of repressive government. (Differentiated from Communism by the presence and power given to private enterprise.) It is understandably used in the context of Dish's audit team and their methods of operation.

the threads are in no way shape or form negative they are an accurate reflection of how each individual was treated by the audit team when they wanted to investigate your TV
the audit team is about as useful as a steaming pile of dog sh*t
to treat customers as crooks
if they turned you off you would know it

whats that saying don't bite the hand that feeds you

I personally find it hard to believe what you say because having phone lines not hooked up is not a option for that department its a requirement

But see you haven't have you? SO it must not be that bad cause trust me If i was as bitter as you they wouldn't get another dime of my money!!! I am not say DISH is awesome or the they didn't have faults but i am happy with the service i get for the money I pay. But of coarse bitter people have to be right and when someone says something to disprove what they say they must be lying. TRUTH BE SAID FIVE RECEIVERS 2 LINES PASSED AUDIT!!!!!!!! NO LIE NO BULL SORRY DUDE!!!!!!!
