I found a 1.2 meter dish with a dg280 motor and a pansat 3500. I paid only $180 For everything!

at my house i have a garage with a tin roof and its connected to my house and my bedroom window goes out to the top of the garage,so instead of a pole mount i used a slimline house mount and got it installed about 7 ft outside my window, took only a 25 ft cable to run from the motor to receiver.

Well on the dtv mount there is a level on top
Of the mount but i leveled the pole with a torpedo level like i always have. However when i put the dish on i notice the level on the top of the mount looked off so maybe the dish pulled it out a bit.

I got it set up. Hitting 92 pct q on 95 sat tp 11780, i am getting everything well but nothing on 83 sat. But getting 107.3 on the other side so far. I have a couple questions

I am wanting to get a microhd so

How good is the tuner compared to a pansat 3500?

do you have to have a better signal to lock hd than you do to get sd signals or is it easier to hit the hd tps?

i am currently aligned well from 85 to 107.3. If feeds is my thing am i really gonna miss much if i just stay where im at?

thanks guys

of the pole. I leveled the pole with a torpedo level like

Before putting the motor and dish on, did the pole bubble agree with the torpedo level? Quite possible the pole has been moved off of plumb with that large dish and motor. Maybe replace the pole with something a little more sturdy? (Utilizing the foot and braces)
Pansat 3500 won't get any HD or S2 signals. Everything else equal, a DVB-S HD should be no harder than an an SD. DVB-S2 requires better signal at the receiving end.
Think you want to get to at least 72W, and 125 on the other side.
How about some pictures, we all love pictures. May see something questionable, or serve as inspiration to others.

I dont have a Pansat so I cant answer for how good its tuner is, however in the DVB-S2 realm I believe that the best (most sensitive) tuner on the Market is currently the microHD. I had an AZBox Elite and it worked good, then came the Manhattan RS1933 and that tuner was more sensitive then the AZbox, then the microHD came out and that tuner was even more sensitive. I am sure some day another box will come out which will have an even better tuner but thats just the way the electronics industry goes.

Well I forgot to mention that one of the two support arms wasnt bolted down as It was missing a bolt, it looked like it was moving slightly, I havent had time to go to a local hardware store to get a bolt but I just duck taped it down where the hole is and now it isnt moving at all and I am about to rescan the arc again. I will post some of my signals on cert sats and tps and maybe someone can let me know if it is considered a strong signal or not.

Good news! I ordered a micro hd today! Hopefully here by the weekend!

One more question I have yet to play with any hd before, are alot of feeds s2 or mpeg 4 or is there a difference? I see that the receiver will do both but I also heard s2 takes a great signal to come in so I am wondering if most is in s2 or mpeg 4?

Getting excited, and the pics will come tomorrow, she is a little old and rusty, but looking out my window and watching that 4 footer move makes me feel good! lol
