I picked up the Touch pro for like $60 when I did an exchange since my wheel was acting up and buttons on the keyboard were going out. It would have been free if I had the insurance. You can still swap yours
The Touch Pro is miles ahead of the Mogul...and I loved that phone! Love the $30 SERO cell phone bill even more

Yeah I just saw the video in viral video forum, that is AWESOME. That is the best damn Satellite application I have ever seen!
That is wickedly cool, That app alone would be worth the upgrade especally if I find myself in the SNG world! Wich is where im trying to go!

Are you telling me that you were able to upgrade to the Touch Pro and still retain your $30 plan? My Sprint account says that I am due for a phone upgrade (new 2-year agreement), but I was provided with the following message when I click "update", "Everything Plus Referral Program (formerly Sprint Exclusive Referral Offer/SERO). Please visit Everything Plus(SM) Referral Program to complete your Everything Plus phone upgrade, or you may call an Everything Plus sales representative by phone at 1-888-882-4030 to place your order." So I called.
Anyway, I was told that I can keep my $30 SERO Plan only if I select a phone with a $50 rebate. Any phone with a $100+ rebate will move me into an Everything Plus Referral Plan ($59 for basically the same plan I currently have plus Sprint TV (which I don't use often and don't need thanks to my Slingbox) and GPS (also don't need since we have Garmins). In a nutshell, the $100 rebate covers all of their PDA/Smartphones: Blackberry Curve, Palm Pre, HTC Touch Pro, etc.
Needless to say, I passed on the offer since my old Mogul is in excellent shape and the offer didn't sound like much of an offer. To be honest, the sales rep was trying her best to force me off of my SERO Plan...not sure if she shaded the truth, but she sure appeared to be working on commission.
Maybe I will have to call another CSR...
Yep, all I did was go to the link below... punch in my phone info and they sent me a new Touch Pro. Even threw in an extra battery. If I would have had the insurance it would have been free. Once the phone came in, I called them up to activate it, the lady said she couldn't activate it on my plan but I told her that I have friends with Touch Pro's on the same plan, she came back a few minutes later and it was on the account.

I am also past my 2 year commitment and still using my Mogul with the $30 Sero plan (thanks to SatelliteGuys letting me know about the deal). On my phone one or two buttons don't work that well (have to push hard or multiple times) and my caps light does not work on the keyboard but have been hesitant to give up the phone because I refuse to loose my current plan. I just get envious when I see everyone with all their fancy new phones.

Not worth $100. Not even worth $50. If it was $30 or less, then I may get it. I don't want my phone tied up using a $100 app. I rather pay $300 for a stand alone.
The free Google Maps app does exactly what I need it to do.
Does it speak? Can it be mounted safely for a driver to see his/her path of destination?
I was all about Google Maps too, before I invested in a stand-alone Garmin GPS.
I've had Tom-Tom for the 6700 and the 6800 and while it works well, the thing I hate about it is the auto zoom. I haven't figured out how to shut that down. When you drive at 70mph the map is zoomed out but only can zoom in when you are driving slower. Most of the time this works fine but when you want to hunt around, the ability to zoom into street level is unavailable. Some of the better, cuter plugins for the Tom-Tom are the voices, like NY Cabbie and sexy hitchhiker which is x rated, BTW. Other Tom Tom stuff includes BOT highway cams that look ahead and give you a visual of the traffic ahead on your route. All this stuff costs, however.

First off, I only use the cell phone GPS when I travel and rent a car, never at home since all my cars have factory GPS screens in the dash. I carry a couple of rubberbands and make a simple rubber sling loop through the dash AC grill and slip it over the phone suspending it on the dash facing me as I drive. It is extremely simple, easy to carry or buy at any store if I forget to bring a rubber band and works well. I actually use two and slip one near the top and the other near the bottom so it doesn't block the screen. I've also used this sling idea for the steering wheel center but many cars, it won't work and also found it is not as good for forward vision of the road.

If you have a problem with your phone then advance exchanged should work for you. Exact thing I did.....thanks to LER's story.
I feel the same way... I have the Garmin app on my Touch Pro and it does work well, no issues with multi-tasking with the app either, but there's nothing like having a standalone device on the dash, they are more accurate, and designed for that task. The only time I use the one on my phone is if I'm with a friend and need to see something real quick, but to use it for a long trip, no way! I'm bringing my standalone Garmin.
I got a new 3GS about a month ago. I love it and my Garmin is now in a box behind the back seat. (I needed the lighter socket for my I trip) I also couldn't justify the map upgrade when just about everything I need is on my I phone.

Well, I called a short while ago and this time I was told that I could indeed keep my current $30 SERO Plan if I upgraded to the HTC Touch Pro. Cool. I was going to place my order when I was told the price would be $299.99 net ($579.99 less $180.00 instant discount and mail-in rebate) which was $150 more than the $149.99 price I was quoted yesterday. I asked what happened to my $150 Eligible upgrade that is reflected on my account, and I was told that it was already reflected in the instant discount. Huh? If Sprint is trying to frustrate me to the point of jumping-ship and signing-up with AT&T they re doing a good job. Shouldn't I be able to upgrade to an HTC Touch Pro for $579.99 (retail), minus $180 Instant Savings (with new 2-year agreement), minus $150 Eligible Upgrade, minus $100 mail-in rebate?
The one thing I noticed in the "eligible upgrade" fine print was that it was good for any plan $39.99 and higher which may disqualify my current SERO Plan. If so, the CSRs should at least be able to explain what discounts are and are not being applied during a phone upgrade. Why have a $150 upgrade credit if you cannot use it. Apparently if you dump the $30 SERO and opt for the $59.99 Everything Referal Plan then you get the $150 Eligible Upgrade; if you keep the $30 SERO you can upgrade to a non-Blackberry PDA but you don't get the $150 Eligible Upgrade; if you upgrade to the Blackberry you are automatically moved into the $59.99 Everything Referal Plan or higher and also the $150 Eligible Upgrade discount. Confused? Me too!

Google maps is nice but as I have stated in other threads you pretty much need a copilot to use it properly. Driving by yourself using google maps can be a challenge to use.
I really wish they would have a evaluation of the Tom Tom software to see how it works prior to spending the money on the application.
