got a hd24 receiver and i have a 18''standered dish

it was activated and everytime i try to turn it on it keeps on saying call directv to complete activation and they tell me it is working but i dont get anything on my tv.and the dish is at 97% from 101

are you sure you arent aimed at say 119?

Try this....in the sat setup change it to 3 LNB (3rd one on the list....it like the old Phase III dishes) and then try channel 366 (Hope Channel). if it comes in then you're aimed at 119

tried it still dont work when it tells me to pick my dish i pick the 18'' round and then it wants me to pick swm or multi switch i dont think i have any

but try the other options...I cant check mine right now but I think the 1st few on the list are
18"
2 LNB
3 LNB
then 18" + 95
etc

its the 3rd one on the list....that loads the channels in for 119 too so you can check if its picking up 119

pick multiswitch even if there isnt one.

no. b-band converters are only for HD

If D* says its active but the screen still says call to activate I'd call them back and speak to technical department. They may need to send a rehit
