Got $1251 to spend? Wal-mart selling PS3 bundle

Well it was out of stock at 3:35 or so. It is back in stock now. I wonder if they have many but are only putting a few at a time up for sale.

And it is back in stock for sale again. Its been off and on since yesterday. In other words, if you want the bundle and it is out of stock...just keep trying.

It does not look like a preorder either. By clicking the estimated arrival link, it said it should arrive Dec 12-15.

Not sure I want 10 of the games.
I wonder if the individual games you don't want can be taken to a Walmart for exchange or credit.

I tried to get one and it says they are in stock but it keeps telling there is a configuration problem.

That can be caused by one of the games or movies you choose not being available, or picking a version of the PS2 not available.

I have tried every configuration possible.

He's right, it is not working. I tried both the 20gb and 60gb. I made sure I didn't pick games that were out of stock. I also tried using FireFox and IE. Neither one worked.

Call this number and see what is going on.

It looks like Wal-mart doesn't have a system that automatically updates the items that are still available. As long as this cycle of the sale being on and then off, the lists get shorter and shorter. For instance, there were a ton of Blu-ray movies available when I first found this thing yesterday. Now, there are 3...and not many people would want these 3 either since they have up to $10 extra charge to the price.

Each time they end the sale, they must be removing the sold-out items, and then reposting the sale as instock. Try to catch the sale as soon as they repost the bundle as in stock.

I hit "refresh" on the browser about 100+ times before it permitted me to checkout. I wouldn't mind having a PS3 and a couples games, but almost $1400 is way too much for us to pay for a game system. I cancelled the transaction after my wife games me that "buy it and I'll be visiting a jewelry store" look. I decided a PS3 wasn't worth 5K.

I don't like being 'forced' to buy a bunch of titles I don't want...I much prefer the way Circuit City has chosen to bundle. An extra controller and the memory card reader. Of course, its 'out of stock'... :(

Why do retailers do this crap? Last year when 360 came out, they only offered it (when you could find someone that had em in stock) in a bundle for $500, $600, and one at Amazon for $899 (not as much money as this PS3 bundle though, lol).

Maybe so they can keep the limited supply from be picked up within seconds at the $299 or $399 for 360, and $599 or whatever for the PS3. Or it could just be them wanting to make a bunch of money.

If you add up what you get in these bundles, (at least for the 360 bundles last year) you don't save any money. So more or less they just push a bunch of games that you'll likely never play, on you when you just want a PS3 (or 360) and maybe a couple of games so they can sell more and get more $.

I guess they do it knowing that someone will buy it, regardless. Wal-mart is sticking their middle finger out at everyone with their massive sized bundles, but at least they didn't throw in things like a $100 warranty (might need one for this first batch of PS3's and any 360 it seems), a magazine subscription (do electronic gamers even use magazines anymore??), or a way overpriced 1GB SD card.

I've heard from other forums where they were able to get the Wal-mart bundle, receive their PS3 or Wii, and then call to cancel the rest of the shipment of games that hadn't arrived yet (they ship items seperately) without a problem. Some even took the unopened games back to Wal-mart with their bundle receipt to get refunds.

Sorry, Big Wood beat me to the punch on this one. I have read the same things and if you could do that I would. Walmart is really getting over on folks whos just want to purchase a PS3. :)
