Google Pixelbook -- a premium chromebook experience

I just took a look. With Google Talk I can make a call with my Google number or my iPhone 7 with a simple selection. But texting is only from my Google number.

I just found out there is a tag that can be enabled to allow split windows in tablet mode. Only works for Chrome OS stuff and not Android (for now, but when in tablet mode, select the button on the bottom right which shows your windows, and drag a chrome window to the left or right and you can have 2 windows open on the same screen.

And I saw that they are finally shipping the Google Pen loops. That will be nice.

A couple weeks using this device, and I now find I start to think about the keyboard's setup when I'm on my mac. The Pixelbook's keyboard is just that nice.

Also got the Pen loop from Google. Haven't installed it yet. Not sure it is needed.

I have now had the pixelbook for about six weeks; if it were not for a couple of research tools that I need for my work, I could literally use this as my primary machine. I still remain in awe at the hardware - the keyboard in particular. I know I mentioned that before, but it is impressive to me how it still has such a good feel. Just makes me want to write using it.

There are still some Chrome OS issues; for example, Chrome 64 managed to screw up the graphic rendering for the Amazon Kindle app. I've followed discussions on the google pixelbook forum, and a Google Engineer actually responded that they are now aware of the problem and it has been escalated. Whether this is true or not is hard to say, but I can't even imagine Apple EVER responding to a similar type complaint on one of their forums.
