Within a few days of use I checked, and my Pixel 2 XL did get the burn it. It's not noticeable to me at all, unless I have a solid grey or light blue background and tilt the phone at an angle. Does it suck? Yes. Do I particularly care? Not really. It's like the bleach stain I have on my bedroom carpet, my desk is sitting on top of it. If I don't see it, I don't really care.
I received the November update earlier in the week. I tried using the new Saturated Mode, and good Lord, after using the display the way it was intended to be used for the past two weeks, I don't understand how anyone could put up with such fake, non-realistic, over saturated colors. But then again, this is Android, it's all about freedom and choice so for those that like displays that are more 'vibrant' the option is there and for those of use that like more realistic colors, that option is there too.
I received one Google Home Mini last weekend and opted to keep it. Sound quality is better then I thought it would be, and the new intercom feature is really cool.
