what color is it?

On some receivers its yellow for a locked signal. Coolsat its green. If its grey then you may not be locked on the signal

when i go to manual search, pictured above, its grayed out. But i did spent some time adjusting the dish back and fourth and couldnt get it go green so i left it the way it is. now if im not locked onto a satellite why would i get the other channels.

very true. Normally if you are locked on a satellite you should get all the channels

so when you scan that transponder does it show the channels pop in the list?

yup thats the thing it shows the number of the channel and name but then ill exit and go look for it its not there. stranges thing. quick question is "factory default" under the menu the same as pressing the reset button at the back of the receiver?

probably....but a factory default might be in order if its not working right

Is it 12022v or 12021v?

Either one should work. Depending on many factors (your LNB stability, the receiver, etc.) the downlink frequency may vary by 2 or 3 MHz...

yeah when you blind scan sometimes it may be off by one or two

one question....on the transponders that has channels you can get is the quality bar grey too?
