...not exactly, but he is playing in the PGA's richest event this week with total prize winnings of 9.5. million dollars. However, he did not play well and after Day 1 is 2-shots out of the making the projected cut. He will have to play better in order to make the cut...and out-of-his-mind well to get back into competition. Other notables have also struggled, but there is still plenty of golf to be played.

LMAO!! funny title riff...... i'll be watching :)

Too funny! Looks like we've increased the numbers of golf thread participants 500%. As much as I likr Rey, Ramy and Salsa...it would be more fun if more people would read the golf threads. Sensationalism to the rescue. :D

T108 Rory McIlroy +4 (didn not make the cut)

Woods and Mickelson are not on top of their game, but managed to string a few good holes together to stay in the tournament. However, they will need to score well tomorrow in order to compete for the championship. Fowler had trouble, but he also looked very good at times. Surprisingly, Rory McIlroy shot a 76 and did not make the cut.

Surprisingly, Rory McIlroy shot a 76 and did not make the cut.

Not really suprisingly. He has never made the cut there.

At golf's top level, a player pretty much has to play the Majors, the WGCs, and on the Ryder/President's Cup. After that, a player can pick and choose a schedule. A smart player will look for courses that suit his particular skills and style. International players have an extra advantage, as they can pick from not on the US PGA, but from the European Tour and off-season events as well. McIlroy has made a two year commitmet to the US PGA, and that include him pretty much having to play the Player's. The course is totally ill suited for his style. If it were a regular stop, he would have taken the week off.

And that is part of why the Player's isn't the "5th Major". First, there are four Majors, and never will be a 5th, but more than that, the "stadium golf" course the Player's uses every year is suited for a partiular type of golfer. (As is every other course, the difference being, the PGA wants every player to show up for the Player's).

I certainly don't disagree with anything you must mentioned...however, I do feel that McIlroy should now possess the knowledge, skils and ability to make the cut on this course. He simply took too many risks and use poor judgement.

Saturday's Tee Time (Round 3)

All Tee Time

2:35 pm Zach Johnson, Kevin Na
2:24 pm Matt Kuchar, Harris English
2:13 pm Charlie Wi, Martin Laird
2:02 pm Jonathan Byrd, Adam Scott
...
...
11:35 am Phil Mickelson, Bob Estes
11:25 am Keegan Bradley, Tiger Woods

Now, can Phil and Tiger come out firing and get back into the thick of things? We shall see...

I worked in the yard all day and just caught up with everything on the DVR.

Day 3 Leaderboard:
1 Kevin Na -12
2 Matt Kuchar -11
3 Rickie Fowler -9
T4 Ben Curtis -7
T4 Zach Johnson -7
T6 Jhonattan Vegas -6
T6 Brian Davis -6
T6 Jonathan Byrd -6
T6 Martin Laird -6

Other Notables:
T14 Phil Mickelson -4
T34 Tiger Woods -2
T43 Lee Westwood -1

Woods and Mickelson played well, at times, but couldn't string any birdies together. They are both too far out to be in serious contention tomorrow. Elsewhere, is playing well coming off his 1st Tour win last week. He's also my pick to win tomorrow. Has anyone seen Kevin Na address the ball. I swear I'm going smack him. I cannot watch him swagger and wiggle again, and again, and again, and again. Ugh!

Final Round Pairings...

...they're off with first group hitting the links at 8:45 am.

2:45 pm Kevin Na, Matt Kuchar
2:34 pm Rickie Fowler, Ben Curtis
2:23 pm Zach Johnson, Jhonattan Vegas
2:12 pm Brian Davis, Jonathan Byrd
2:01 pm Martin Laird, Johnson Wagner
..
..
1:17 pm Phil Mickelson, Martin Kaymer
11:25 am Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk

P.S. As with all events, you can sometimes catch live action on the Golf Channel, and always catch in-depth coverage with their "Live From..." shows.

"Dream Team" special on NBA TV

Clemens verdict.
