Globecast receiver and Dish

Hi all,
I hope you can help me.
I just got globecast receiver with Elliptical dish.
My question is I want to connect to other satellites.
Do I need another receiver? or can I use the same one.
The other question is can the globe cast receiver control a motorized dish?

I know that a Globecast receiver won't control a motor. As for receiving channels other than Globecast, I'm not sure on that one. It doesn't have blind scan (or probably any type of scan whatsoever), so you'd probably have to manually input the frequency, polarity, SR, FEC, PIDs, etc. (if you are able to on that box)...

Best to get a box made for FTA. Simple ones can be had for not much money these days.

Globecast box can get other stuff on IA5 but that's about it. Unless you sub to something on Globecast, as Tron noted I would get a better box. (and you could still use the Globecast box for the GC channels)

I got the sat and receiver and installed it and it works great.
I will look later at getting another receiver.
