Metallica - Exclusive Guitar Hero III Tracks

Apparently if you buy the new Metallica album through Best Buy you get some free GH3 songs. For $9.99, it's a great price for 11 free songs, even if you don't like Metallica.

Nice! I'll spend the 9.99 for free GH3 downloads. So the card will be given out by BB? Or tucked inside the cd itself?

Well given the following evidence:

New Metallica DLC coming out with release of album, with 11 songs available for download (11 free download tracks)

There's a sticker on the case for the new album on BB.com that has 2 separate "Guitar Hero" logos. The DLC coming out has been confirmed to work with both GH3 and WT.

I think we can assume that essentially we are getting the DLC included with this CD. Considering that the DLC alone costs $18, versus $9.99 + tax for the CD and the DLC, this is an unbelievable deal. They say it includes a "Card with instructions." I'm assuming this will be a redemption code we enter that will lead us to the download.

I think BB just hosed us on the downloads. Looks like the GH3 downloads come with the special edition only. The ad is very very misleading. I have a call into BB. Waiting for a reply.

Yeah same here.
I just went back to Bestbuy.com, and if you look at the descriptions, the free GH3 tracks are only listed on the Special Edition version of it.

In retrospect, we should have known it was too good to begin with. I mean why would they offer such a good deal? $9.99 for cd + DLC versus $17.99 for just DLC? I think both sides are at fault. We're at fault for thinking we could get away with such a good deal, but THEY are at fault for not specifying that you HAD to buy the Special Edition to get the DLC.

It was only $10. I can't complain. The cd is better than their last couple of releases.
