Hello all.
I have a 508 that I'll be swapping out for a 522/625. I have a TON of stuff on the dvr. If the receiver is no longer on my account, can I still hook the receiver up to a computer and record the stuff off the dvr onto a dvd, for example? I can do it now with the receiver all hooked up, but does anything change once it's disconnected? I wouldn't think so, as the dvr is really just a hard drive, but wanted to ask the pros.

Thanks in advance! Fred

I would keep the 508 active until you pull everthing off it but would not turn in the receiver since dish no longer sells or manufactures them anymore as their closest replacement is a 510?

I had my 942 for a couple of weeks while I offloaded recordings to a DVD recorder. It wasn't even connected to my antenna system, but it worked fine.
