Ya, I'm totally new to this. I ordered a CoolSat 5000. I'm wondering if I need to buy anything else or if I already have everything I need.
I have an old 18-20 inch oval-shaped RCA DirecTV dish, and the LNB thing says:
BSS 12.2 - 12.7 GHz
950 - 1450 MHz
...
BSAN4-202B...

Depending on which satallite i select, the "level" ranges from about 7% to like 86%. On a few satallites the "quality" is 57%, but it keeps snapping back and furth. Is that normal? When I scan for free channels it never finds anything. Does this DiSEqC connection need to be connected?
My zip code is 75904. Hella thanks in advance!

wow, i really don't even know what's available. all i'm looking for is something more than the 3 broadcasts that get with my antenna.
