I get 110 but not 119 the signal strength is the same on both. I tried turning the dish little but little but would lose 110 and then get 119. I would think if the signal strength is the same for both I would get both. Is there such a fine line to get both or to lose one or the other? I bought the bracket that holds both lnb's to the correct angle.

Welcome to SatelliteGuys.

More info is needed, but make sure you have the mast plumb, and then make sure you set the skew to what it is supposed to be for your zip code and leave it be don't touch it. Set your elevation and move your dish left and right till you get a good signal and then do a check switch.

Give more details and we can help more. btw I assume it is a Dish500 and what is your Zip?

The key is making sure that mast is plumb on ALL sides and skew is set. Once you set that skew do NOT adjust the skew. Only adjust the elevation (up and down) and azimuth (left to right) and very slowly. Also you may need to try to do a check switch to see if you can get both to come in. That would be the first step.

If you had a twin lnbf on that Dish500 then you would get a successful check switch after you get 110 or 119 in. if you have a Dish500 with two individual lnbf's connected to a switch then it should be the same as with the twin after a check switch. If you have a Dish500 without a twin (has built in switch and two lnbf's are built together) or seperate sw-21/42 switch but just trying to hookup one lnbf or the other then you can only get one satellite at a time even if you do the check switch. This would cause you to get 119 with the 110 lnbf and 110 with the 119 lnbf.

I assume that you only have one receiver and that you are installing this for the first time.

Getting ready to fix my mast for my superdish and read the reference to "plumb" again. I'm wondering... what do you use to make sure the mast is plumb? A standard level on all sides? A bubble-level stuck into the top of the pole?

my guess is that he's using a dish300, if he was using the 500 that was skewed, he would have to be also changing the elevation as well as the azimuth to be having the problem he is having.. just my opinion
