I was just told that I should have 22kWz turned on for this lnbf is that true?

Which model number lnbf are you referring to. Some use 22khz switching to change bands. Some do not need to change bands since they are fixed frequency. We need more information.

Is it a UL1 or a SL1? or can you give us the LO frequencies.
