Thanks

It's more than a dish mover! We have a section devoted to the 920/922 series and related topics. I would read through it. The 922 was the top of the line of the 4DTV receivers, the last model sold. It is older technology and likely to not be upgraded, unfortunately. Where on earth would you find a brand new one? And at what price? The 922 allows for analog and digital reception, and there are a few programming providers left who still sell subscriptions to some popular cable-type channels and channel packages, in most cases the picture quality is the best. But, no HD unless you can find the HDD-200 high def decoder that connects to the 922. Check skyvision dot com for some examples of programming for the big dish.

edit : Welcome to Satelliteguys!

I am currently trying to FIND a model 922 myself - it is a fantastic C-Band receiver. My 4DTV model 920 lost it's unit ID.

If you are going to buy the 922, I would have the seller make sure that the unit ID that displays on the screen in the setup menu matches what is on the tag on the back of the receiver. That is VERY important if you want to subscribe to any of the big dish programming, and also for tuning into any of the channels that are in Free Preview mode on 4DTV format.

The guy I am going to get the 922 receiver has 2 of them he said. He told me that he stopped using the c-band dish a yes ago and went with DTV.

I need to know what the 922 receiver is worth. He has not told me a price yet?
If the price is right and they are a good receiver then I might buy both.

If someone would be interested in 1 let me know.

I think the price is going to boil down to what you want to pay for the receiver and what your primary use for it will be. If you want a dish mover you might be better off buying a vbox or something similar. If your gonna scribe to 4dtv programming better make sure the unit id is good or you might end up with a dead box. You can check ebay to see what there selling for the 922 was the last 4dtv and usally sell for more than the 920s. I have a 920 and subscibe to skyvision and have it slaved to a cs7000 for fta.
