General DirecTV question

I have a general DirecTV programming question - is it possible to get portions of DirecTV service without having a base package? Such as only purchasing Extra Innings Package? I know with Dish Network having a Flex Account gives you flexibility - is there anything similar with Direct?

Even the Int'l only packages require either the $12 base package (which is locals and shopping/religious channels) or a regular package

I wonder if you could get something like MLB EI and get the Int'l "base" package with it...or I assume they'll want you to get an INt'l channel too

Oh yes - if you read the "fine print" you can ONLY get that $12 base pkg w/at least one int'l ch.
Unfortunately, the cheapest a la carte int'l channel is $15. (I believe there used to be an int'l radio ch that was only like $5, but I think it has since been dropped)
So, even if you go that route, you ain't saving much over Fam Pak...
