Yep, it looks like we are heading back down towards $1 a gallon. I think the price of gas, allowing for inflation, should be right around the $1.39-$1.59 pricepoint at most. This $2 gas is still too high in my opinion. We need to be paying $1 or less per gallon for a while to make up for all this time we had to pay $3-4 per gallon.
From the article I read, it said that oil prices should be more stabilized long-term without the large spike in prices like we have been seeing. I sure hope this is true. I do not think we have hit the bottom yet and it went around to $40 a barrel. They say it needs to hit $30 per barrel to get back down to $1 per gallon.
$1.42 here in the Memphis area; one of my co-workers just came back from KC visiting family and was paying $1.36. We read the LaPorte, IN is around $1.19.
Remember some cost differences are due to local, county and/or state tax, and blend differences.same station even lower - no need for a new post
In Lubbock, Texas tonight... $1.34 at one place... even a little spot in the road farming community Seagraves had it $1.41 and was $1.69 in Hobbs just across the border in NM...
