Costco, Santa Rosa, 6 miles up the road, is 20 cents a gallon cheaper. Makes no sense!

The Salem Costco bounced up six cents to $3.059 on Tuesday. Things are not going in the right direction.

Going back to the disparity of prices in nearby Costcos, Rohnert Park $4.439, Santa Rosa $4.259, Redwood City (83 miles but a much more expensive area) $3.999:

I had a discussion with my daughter, who is nearly your neighbor Harshness, she lives in Corvallis, as to why the disparity. She brought up an interesting thought. We have an Indian casino just outside the Rohnert Park City limits like a mile from our Costco. Lots of casino traffic, maybe a reason to jack the price.

Unless they're hiding an RV facility at Graton, I doubt that's a big consideration.

Ukiah ($3.949) is "on the way" and perhaps, to a lesser extent, Napa ($3.899) so for people coming in from outside the RP/SR area those would be much better choices for travelers.

Cornvalley (Corvallis: South until you smell it, West until you step in it) is much closer to the Albany store ($3.099) which used to beat out Salem but has been running a bit higher for a while now.

Assume it's getting ready jump today. Saw Murphy's was still $2.53 but QT, Casey's and Maverick were at $2.69-$2.79

$2.67 here in mid-Michigan. It's been $2.77 and less for weeks now.

The Salem Costco is $3.099 and $3.399. I think this happened last Friday.

Redwood City is $4.099 and $4.459 so they still aren't getting hosed as badly as Rohnert Park.

I imagine the political nonsense between the US and Canada has made for some pretty wild swings in petroleum futures -- the prescribed basis of gas pricing.

The Salem Costco is up to $3.199 and $3.599. It has been going up around 10 cents a week after a month of not going anywhere.

Redwood City is fast catching up with Rohnert Park at $4.499 and $4.799.
