LMAO....see, when it comes to who I like as an athlete...on top of hitting 30 homes runs or scoring 20 TD or averaging 25 points a game....UNLIKE YOU...he has to have character....he has to NOT be an embarrassment to his race(regardless of what it is) and where he is from(regardless of what country he is from). Someone that there is a SMALL chance he will be in a criminal line-up and DOES NOT BLAME OTHERS for things that did not go his way on another team!!

And, I am not as forgiving about athletes as most. Do I dislike the Sheffield?? Absolutely!! And I ALSO dislike A-Rod, but I stick up for him when something is unfair. And everyone here knows my dislike for Barry Bonds, but I sill stick for him whe he deserves to be backed.

I am a Raiders, Reds, Syracuse Orangeman(college basketball), Miami Hurricanes(college football) and Philadelphia 76ers. I have always supported the local teams that I have lived in(I believe in supporting your local teams....except when playing yours...)

I have met AND worked out with A-Rod and is...not comes off as, not looks like....but IS an arrogant bastard. BUT with that said, I have defended him HERE many times. And I have ALWAYS stuck up for ball players getting as much as they can while they can. I have never complained about ANY PLAYER making "too much money".

Come on Jimbo....we have disagreed MANY times on things....but if I THOUGHT you said something, you know full well I would tell you did and I know you would explain your reasons for saying it.

In my years working in sport media...I have met,PERSONALLY more professional athletes than most in here....you would be surprised how many are "rumored" to be arrogant and really are not...and how many play the "nice, all-American good guy" but is the BIGGEST fake wanna-bes you have ever met. I've learned alot about pro athletes and how to read people....I've learned that as a sports fan...NEVER look up to these guys because at one point or another....they will disappoint you....but I ALWAYS hold out hope that most will pleasantly surprise me.

I have never disliked an athlete for what he has done against my team....LOL...that is THEIR job. I have disliked athletes for what they have done OFF the field.....and I gotta take back that word dislike....it's been more extremely disappointed....but then you move on.....next....

I never questioned your character, I questioned the fact that hitting home runs is more important to you than a players character. He has been traded what...7 times??!!! He is a gifted ball player that quite possibly be a 1st ballot Hall of Famer. But when you have HOF numbers, but get traded AT LEAST 7 times(and I doubt he will finish his career in Detroit)...I doubt almost ALL those clubhouses have more or less the same "different points of view" as he did... then there is a issue somewhere...According to him, he has never done anything wrong....everybody ELSE had the issues....

Ihope you're not saying that because a player has been traded often, that it's because he is a locker room cancer. There have been many players in every sport that have played for 6-7 teams, for whatever reason. Some just can't land a home.

No...but how players that have potential HOF numbers get traded 7 or 8 times ??
Not necessarily a cancer, but when HE has left previous teams, he has stated that THEY had issues with him and he had no problems at all. When a guy complains about the clubhouse, yet they all say the same thing about him...."difficult"....you gotta read between the lines.....
