I play a game that gives you the option of getting a smart media card and reader to use for added security on your account. The reason for the added security is because you can deposit real money into the game to get game money ( 1 = 10 ) and can make a considerable amount of money off the game legaly. So Im wondering if anyone else here knows of a game that uses a smart media card for access and security.

What Im currently playing is Project Entropia, what Ive made in the last month on the game is $1,200.

How the hell do you make $1200 playing videogames?? Hurry up, I don't want to go to work on monday...

Its a random risk that gets slight bit better as you go along by raising your skills of your character and playing smart. Last october or november a virtual space station in the game was sold for $100,000.00 US currency to a player in Miami. The year before a land mass in the game was sold for $28,000.00 US currency in the game, the lesser priced one has already payed for itsself through ingame taxation on loot potential on the property. The year it was sold I believe that about $70 million in US currency had passed through the game ( read carefully thats passed through ), how much went to players that decided to cash out I dont know but there are players that have made enough off the game that if they wanted to cash out would not have to work for around 5 years atleast at at an average of $50k a year.

He lost me...

I booted up Prince of Persia, pressed up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A Start and i'm still broke...

Its a game called project entropia, its based out of sweden through a company called Mind Ark. Its not an ordinary game in most respects so if you have patience and are good with business and money this can be an enjoyable game for you to play. Since I last posted on here about it I looted a rare piece of game armor and sold it for the equivelant of $600. Right after this someone in the game had a all time high hall of fame grand loot equal to $9,300 and that is substantial.

One thing I need to make clear for anyone wanting to try this game is the following:

(1) if your going to play the game strictly to make money then you wont last long in the game, its not something that you can just drop into and deposit some cash and expect to make a living off of it right away.

(2) you really have to have patience for this game as it takes time and things wont always go the way you would like them to. Factors in the game are based very much on chance and potential and not on absolute definites, really I consider the programming to be designed to make it as close as possible to what you would find in the real world.

(3) if your still interested in the game then you can download it and set up an account ( free on both ) and go into to play. I can mentor anyone in the game and recommend membership ( free ) in the society that I am a part of. If your interested send me a PM and once you get the game installed and your account set up I can meet up with you at Port Atlantis to help get you started.

This is the link to the website, be sure to read up on the news in here as it will tell you about the space station that was purchased by a player in Miami for $100,000. There is also a download section and a section to check to see if your computer is up to playing the game.

I've been reading more and more on Entropia...

It sounds like a cool game/gamer addition thingy. I think I'm going to download it this weekend and start messing with it... I've been trying to make a few bucks online doing stuff on turbosquid... but haven't made much yet... a few bucks a month is REALLY about all that's come of it so far....

Entropia sounds like it may have more potential to give out real $$$, eventually, if you play it right. I used to play Diablo 2 a few years back... and was ok, but ended up getting married, ran out of time to keep up with it and lost my account.... It really hurts to build up a character to level 79 or so and then lose it in a matter of months just because you didn't have time to log on, and/or got too distracted with life's other going ons...

Is it possible to lose an account on Entropia if you don't log in in X amount of days or months??!?! I'd hope not if it's based on real money.

damn I was going to download it but it doesnt look like my video card is capatible I have an ati 9200, however it says under requirements I need atleast at 96xx or higher :(

I'm downloading now... I may not be able to do it either? I have an all-in-wonder 9000 Pro. I'll let you know if it works... I'm hoping that that requirement is just to make things look better, but isn't absolutely "necessary"

The Download took a LOOOONG Time... About 4 hours... and I'm on DSL!!!

The game does play with my all in wonder, so you should be good to go. There did seem to be some lag on occassion, but probably no more than you'd see in other mmorpgs so it's all good.

I've read a few tutorials on it over the last couple of days... looks like you mainly either need to pay in to it to get weapons and stuff right off the bat, or work your way up. In the couple of hours I played today, I got about 85 or so sweat thingys from the creatures near Atlantis Port. Some of the folks in there were talking about selling 2000 or so sweats to other players for 15 peds or so... I think 10 peds = 1 USD dollar, so in the beginning, it's a slow process and won't get you much money, but I do see how if you work hard enough, and enjoy playing the game a lot this could be profitable eventually after you play it enough to get good strategies and stuff put together... tutorials I've read say when starting off, go for sweat... after you get some peds, then go for hunting/mining... and eventually work your way up the food chain to buying land... and after that you can use that land, and have others come to it and mine and hunt on it...

If you do download and try out the game, don't go after creature's sweat on your own at first... try to find a team so that the critter doesn't only go after you... the lowly critters near the cities seem to do 10-15 points of damage... 5-10 hits like that and you die, teleporting to the city terminal...
