It appears that a few of our games were released to the public domain for our arcade without actually being released by the game author.

I have received an email tonight claiming that 3 games in our arcade are in violation of one companies copyright.

These games are

Ablast
Pinball (superdudes) and
Towerball (WRAX)

I am now working with the games copyright holder to license these games so that you may continue to enjoy them. :)

More as I know it.

Wow, I did not know this.

From now on before I submit games to be added to our arcade I will check to make sure that they are legal before adding them.

Thanks Scott!

Hey I didnt know they were not legal eaither. :)

My feeling is just keep putting them up until we get asked to take them down. The vast majority (if not the rest) are legal.

I posted a thread over at Synergyforums.com letting them know what you found out. I did request that people make sure that the games can be installed freely before posting them. Hopefully that works.

Then again you never know when people are just out there e-mailing pretending to be the game owner.

I think the so called authors of those games are on Crack.

I just got the costs of licencing

Ablast = $500 for 1 year license
WRAXX = $750 for 1 year license
Pinball = $750 for 1 year license

Crack I tell ya.

They must think they work for Microsoft or Novell or something. That is very high for a flash game. I would find out of they really own those games.

I have checked into licencing a few of our games in the past (and get custom versions) and the costs have been from $25 - $65.

As I said I think these guys are on crack, and I also am not sure if they are even the true copyright holders.
