Galaxy & amc sats on the western arc

Hello,

Just a quick and brief question....

The analog C-band channels on Galaxy sats. on the western arc,
such as AMC11c, G12, and C4 sats.

Those analog C-band signal quality on those satellites are weak signals.
Or in other words, like "sun spots".

Is it because my 24 inch actuator arm isn't tracking on those
satellites?? Or is it "THEIR" uplink signal quality problem???

That's what I want to find out is to compare if any of you have the same problem.
So that I wouldn't have to mess around my actuator arm adjustment.

There are no uplink problems. I'm receiving all the analog channels sparkly free in Northern California on a 10 mesh dish. What size dish are you using? How is your eastern satellite reception? It may be a skew problem. If adjusting skew doesn't fix it, then it may be an alignment problem. Adjusting the actuator arm won't help. You may need to adjust the elevation slightly.

Thanks, that's what I need to know...

I have a 10 foot mash dish antenna, KTI - ST-10.
With a 24 inch actuator arm.

Does this help??

Oh yes, I forgot to answer that question in my previous reply.

YES, the reception on the eastern satellite, such as G16c, which
has BUERNA VESTA ABC feed on TP-17, C-band is PERFECT.
And the chaplin on TP-16 C-band, is also perfect as well.

Let me explain this in short....
Last Sunday I was tuning up the bolt with a nut and lock washer
at the end of the actuator arm, which is on the left side of the
dish for the western people. Well, I forgot to remember
"Righty-tighty" and "Lefty-loosy". I eventionaly with the ranch
turned it to "Lefty-loosy"!! OOP!!!
So, I heard a BUMP which I saw the bolt and the end of the
actuator arm went bump down into the hole.
Or in ether words, like elivated down just a bit.
So, that may have messed up the "skew".
I screwed up, because I have trouble remembering
which is tight and which is loosen by using the ranch.
Now I have to face the problem is to get the dish line
up with the 24 inch actuator arm to be able to get a good
reception on the western satellites.
When I move the dish to G12 sat, for example, I checked the
dish by lifting with my hand, to lift up to find out whether is
something loosen. YEP, I felt the lift GENTALY and was
WABLING. But the bolts seems to mee are tighten, unless
I check it with the ranch.

So, that's the brief story I can give you.

The 10 foot dish is 8 years old now.
I thought I would check it by tunning it up.
But my brain screwed up on which direction in using
the ranch.

Sounds more like the declination got affected if it uses TWO bolts for adjustment. I had issue were my dish would track good on the east arc down to 12.5W and a liitle weak on the western arc. Some known weak sats like Satmex was coming in weak. Adjusted one side of the declination bolt and dish started tracking better on the west down to 139W.
Incidentally I adjusted the skew, elevation, and realigned my southern sat but it did not help. Hoever these are the things to do first before messing with the declination.
