Nimiq 1 is at 86w. It is operated by Telsat Canada Ltd/Bell Canada but there are no channels ITC. Nimiq 3 is at 82W. It was also operated by Telsat Canada Ltd/Bell Canada but has been retired. Info found via Satbeams - World Of Satellites at your fingertips and 86.0° West - Nimiq 1 Frequencies
Which is it, Nimiq 1 or Nimiq 3?
Nimiq 1 is reportedly at 86.57W.
Nimiq 3 was originally DIRECTV 3 and is currently wobbling badly over Quito, Ecuador.
In either case, you're many degrees of azimuth off and thousands of miles away from 97W. Each degree represents a separation of 457.236 miles so you have to be very gentle when cranking the azimuth around.
If I had to guess, you are seeing Nimiq 4 at 82W which puts you off about 22.2 degrees east of where you wanted to be. Not good considering you were 8.2 degrees west to start with.
k iv got it in im hittn 6 tp on 97 west for ku 90 sig 88 quality ..i cant seem to get some of the other tp .iv gone inand checked the tp numbers with ling sat everthing matches ku tps..wen i scan thos tps says scan failed.not sure why.
which ones are working and which ones are failing? can you give us a list? And also a few of the channel names? 97W is mostly either religious stuff or stuff from Africa/Middle East/Southeast Asia/Eastern Europe

looks like you might be getting interference from 95W. Here is what you can try: Tune in to one of those 97W channels that you listed above, and bump the dish slightly toward the west, making sure that it's still getting that channel. Then scan again. The idea is to still get 97W but be a bit further from 95W to avoid mixing both signals.
k i ttried to nudge it..ive noticed wen i go in n sit on a tp signal kina varies no quality...but wen i scan it it shows quality. but fails ls lt my old view sat lite rec im tryin till i get my old sv premier up n goin or am i missin a setting

Your receiver is very popular with hackers. By going to the site you referenced above, you will only get hack ware. It will do you no good for FTA, that is why they wanted you to pay to get access.
Getting hacked firmware is not going to help you get a better signal.

Unless there is something wrong with that receiver, and it could already contain hackware, you need to go back to the basics.
The dish and LNBF you have are a good combo for 97W. So I am guessing you still do not have your skew properly adjusted.
Also make sure you are using good quality RG-6 coax, from your LNBF to your receiver.
97W Ku is easy to get, so if you are getting the few you are, most already have over 200 hundred channels scanned in.
So go back to basics and make sure everything is correct. If still no better, you could have a bum LNBF or receiver.
This is assuming you have good coax and proper ends on it. Wrong coax and improper or cheap screw on ends can attenuate signals and cause these issues.
Post some pictures of your dish. Maybe one of us will see something there that does not look correct.

i apoligize the site mentioned.i scanned 97 west wen i changed channels my rec kept sayin update sw ..they seemed to b the only place that had it..it worked fixed the bug in the factory software..
