hi emilus, DD said "severed" (with a "d" on the end)....that means that they may be totally cut through.

Thanks phlatwound, that's exactly what I had. I just got here and was going to answer his query. I figured the cable might have been cut or pinched in two, or something. He can ring out the wire with an ohmeter, but would be a little difficult to do with the ends seperated so far. There are ways, but probably wouldn't help a lot....

But he had voltage 13~18 volts - so the wire can't be severed.
