Hey everyone, Hopefully all of you are having a good day. I recently learnt about FTA receivers and for $80 I bought a receiver )PANSAT 2500a CLONE FTA Satellite Receiver PANTEC 2500) Now I need some help setting it up. What else do I need to watch decent channels on my TV? If someone can let me know the exact item I will need such as DISH Antenna, etc... it would be really helpful. Thanks for your help.

Look at the Sponser's above (Go Satellite, Sadoun, and Satellite AV) and click on there links, to find what else you need. I would suggest the largest dish you can afford. Stay away from Directv dishes or DishNet dishes, as they are to small to work reliably with FTA. You will also need an lnbf, for standard linear reception. Also you need enough co-ax to run it from the dish into your house. And connectors for the co-ax. There are so many things you can do, ways you can go. I would also suggest you read as much as possible from this site and the FTA/MPEG2 Facts sub-section of this section.

Seriously consider getting a motorized setup if at all possible. I installed a motor on my dish, and I couldn't imagine going back to a stationary setup. For free-to-air dishes, Bigger Is Better. :)

FTA setup help please

Hey guys,

I just receive PANSAT 2500a CLONE FTA Satellite Receiver. Also I was able to get DirectTV satellite antenna. Now since I have never done this I do not know how to set everything up. Where should I point the dish at and how do i set it up to watch sky sports?

Can someone please help me out here. I live in California.

What channels are you looking to receive? Once we know this we can help you get the dish pointed in the right direction.
