I guess I've been asleep, when it comes to outernet.Google the word outernet, and it will explain the next generation of Free satellite data we will start recieving,it looks like next year,on the ku band.Looks exciting what do you think?Check it out,and post your thoughts.

It is already in test mode for all of us hobbyists to test and provide input. You will find it on G19 KU for North America.

Here are some additional posts about and with Outernet in the past month and a link to the interview with the founder on Satellite Nation Radio a few weeks ago.

This is exciting. No censorship for those regions with that problem. And it could stimulate interest in FTA as a side benefit. Outernet would have worldwide appeal and perhaps dishes could be a reasonable size (meaning hideable) since only data is being received. I'd like to try it out.

All set up and waiting for my Linux USB tuner. Hopefully I'll just plug in and go. Outernet signal on 97 west is strong. I'll post results soon.

Yes let us know! Syed the CEO of Outernet monitors this forum. :)

I had a lot a days with nothing showing up, TVHeadend was showing lots of errors so I gave up for awhile, yesterday I decided to give it another try and I have been receiving lots of content since the restart. The problem must be fixed now, I had error problems even using my 1.2 meter dish so I know I had good enough signal.

The content is Wikipedia pages and News stories.

Yep still some bugs to work out. Remember this is still in the very early stages of beta. Syed, thought it better to go ahead and release info to receive it though, this way he gets better feedback early on in the game. :)

I did expect problems at the start, I just thought I would mention that things seem to be working well now.
I tried to leave feedback on their forum but I never got any confirmation emails back when I tried to sign up, I even tried 2 different email accounts.
