:) Hello. Perhaps someone out there can help me. I have tried and tried to aim my FTA dish to hit the entire arc of FTA satellites, but it's just not happening. The dish is already on the pole, mounted firmly in concrete and plumb all the way around. I have a Fortec Star 90 cm dish, motorized with the SG2100 motor and Fortec Star Mercury II for the receiver. The settings on my dish are 24.5 for the dish elevation and 34 for the Latitude (I am in 74728 zip code, FYI). My true south satellite is at G3C at 95, and the dish is at 175 deg. I have tried and tried, but I've come to the point where I don't want to mess with this FTA stuff anymore if I repeatedly yield no results.

----So, would anyone be willing to come to Southeast OK and do an install for me (or know of any companies that would be willing to do it)? Really, all that needs to be done is to just aim the dish properly so I can get as many of the FTA satellites on the arc as possible...I'll take care of the cabling inside and outside of the house and all that stuff. Thanks for reading.

Keep trying... your post reminds me of mine when I first started.

Do a checklist...

Do you have the tps loaded in to the receiver that you know for sure are on your true south's satellite? Do you have the tv outside with you near the dish as you are aiming so that you can watch the signal meter on there? Is the lnb connected correctly?

Having a tv and receiver next to your dish setup is a must. DON'T give up!

What point are you at now? Do you get some satellites or none?

I agree. A few weeks back I almost gave up on FTA as I was unable to locate 93W which is True South for Minneapolis. Finally took a small portable TV and the receiver up on the roof. Positioned the dish/motor to where I thought the true south angle was and slowly moved the dish until I got my True South. I can get a lot of other satellites in the arc now. Make sure the you have active frequencies when you are searching for your True South satellite.

Iceberg has a thread with strong TPs.

Find the thread, then find a strong TP for your TS bird. after findign the bird with a strong TP, do a blind scan, find a weaker TP, then peak on the weak TP.
