Fta --> Ftc ??

Say you have an FTA / TVRO dish that is now warped and useless.

These guys have turned some dishes from FTA use to FTC ("free-to-cook") applications!

I dunno. I found it pretty clever and amusing. I suppose with a proper Az/El tracking system, you could track the sun and boil water at the focal point and drive a small steam generator. ;D

Never really thought about it much before, but NOW I know why satellite dishes are painted with flat, non-metallic paint

Hey that is a "HOT" idea.

A couple of years ago, we sold a couple of 180cm dishes to a researcher who was doing this. He was asking for an open box or demo dish to save on cost.
