FTA dish on a deck...

Hi all...

Thanks for all you info and I hate asking possible stupid questions...but..I currenly have direct tv for my pay sat service and my dish is mounted on my deck..its about 4 feet off the ground...what I wanted to do was get a FTA dish, i think 30 inch dish, but I want to also mount it on my deck with a motor to scan the different sats. Can this be done? or will it have to be pole mounted...i could post pics of my current direct tv set up if needed.

also, do i need a sat finder to do the install, or can a newbie set everything up. Im looking for a receiver that has the easiest install...as in scanning channels and TPs.....

Deck will work fine as long as you can get all the satellites you are after from there, if not then it may have to go higher. With these bigger dish the lower the better!

I have a DirecPC dish on my deck aimed at G3

I could see about 1/2 the satellites from there...the other dishes for FTA are on the deck
