In reading the "Will hackers ruin it....." thread, it makes me wonder if FTA Direct has been getting moron script kiddies and crackers calling up and asking for their money back since they cannot watch pay TV for free anymore. If D* Net has put them in the dark, they could be a little miffed that they actually have to pay for what the rest of us with "18 inchers" do.

As an aside, I think it is important to make the point that those who steal pay television are not, in any way, shape, or form, hackers. Hackers play with technology. They tear things apart and put things back together. If they make the gizmo better after they tear it apart, it's a bonus. If a guy runs down the street and steals a purse from a lady's shoulder, he is not a "purse hacker". He is what he is; A CRIMINAL!!! As one who has been noodling with widgets and gizmos for years on a shoestring budget, I consider myself a hacker in the way that the term was originally intended. I am sure that there are plenty of you out there that fall into the same category. I avoid associating myself with "L337 hax0rs" because they are usually a bunch of punks that are trying to get sometihng for nothing. I'm sure that I am not the only one around here with a copy of 2600 magazine on my desk right now

Sorry about the outburst. My intention is not to offend or alienate anyone, but those who hack will tell you they don't want to be associated with those who engage in criminal activities. They want to learn and grow intellectually and improve their technical aptitude. It isn't about breaking the rules
