Did you just get it in August or is it AppleCare or it which includes damage coverage till August meaning it is just over a year old?

I'll overlook the helmet picture entirely.

Not sure if this helps but Best buy has a trade in offer where you get an additional $50 towards the purchase of a new iPad. I did this for an iPad 2 and stacked a movers coupon to get the iPad Air 2 for $276.
