froyo for droid leaked

Yesterday my phone was out of the battery charger all day, and battery was still at 80 percent. It seems faster; it has had no hiccups. All in all well worth the wipe/delete to install it.

Sounds good. Been waiting on a review. Looks like this weekend will be the time for me.

Took me about a half-hour total. You download the rom, let it do a backup, and wipe/delete, and then it installs and reboots. You then have to wait for it to reboot automatically (as Pete has found a way to take apps from the rom partition and install them to the SD card (to permit future updates), and then once it reboots, you log-in to your google account and then just wait for it to sync.

I also restored SMS and call logs from "My Backup Pro" -- and if you are using Launcher Pro and want to save your home screens; back it up with Titanium Backup, and then restore it. Worked like a charm. All I had to do was reinstall the widgets.

Finally, Bugless Beat .5 (based on the FINAL FRG22 source) has been released. Installed it this morning; and it is pretty smooth. And hopefully these damn system update alerts will finally stop! :)

One of the biggest changes for me is that I am now able to run the NEW gmail app, and the NEW SetCPU. You could not do that with BB.4.

I did have to do a wipe/delete cache on this one. Kind of sucked, but Titanium backup had my back. :D
Just noticed you said new gmail and new set cpu. What do you mean and where did you get them?

Well, just before BB.5 came out google released a new version of the gmail app, but on my old rom, I could not install it. It was in the marketplace, and I downloaded it, but it would not run. (The new gmail is very much improved btw). The same was true with the new release of SetCPU. For some reason the way both apps were put into the actual rom, they were not user-upgradable. But with BB.5, Pete made it possible for users to upgrade those types of apps when new versions came out. And of course, he provided the newest version of each in the software.

Hope that clarifies it.

Pete has a new Bugless Out for the OG Droid, its BB.6, and apparently includes bits of gingerbread. :)

I might put it on my old Droid just to check it out, since I am not using the phone anymore....

Maybe it will get rid of this annoying popup wanting me to install the over the air update.

It is still 2.2.1, but it apparently is very fast.

I just tried to flash it, but the old Droid is locked on the Motorola icon. Me think my clockwork needs reflashing.

I would put it on mine to check it out, but I just reset it to stock as I am selling it to a friend of the wife. May reroot it for her though, and if so, Ill check this out.

I am on 5 and it started out not doing it, but started back about 1 week ago or so.

I used to have this problem when I was on BB .4. There was a fix which worked for a bit, but VZW /Moto is persistent, that is for sure. I just wen through the same thing with my rooted DX; had to restore all the bloatware, let it install the update, and then re-root and go through the whole process of killing bloatware again. Annoying.

I wish Verizon and Motorola would just let us be to use our phones the way we want.
