Free upgrade to the Hopper 3?

Does anyone know if DISH will be giving free upgrades to current customers? I have the Hopper w/Sling and was curious. Also if I get a Hopper 3 then there will be no need for my Super Joey correct? Just a regular Joey is all I should need to watch TV in the bedroom. The only reason I have a Super Joey right now is to get the 5 tuners. Since the Hopper 3 will be coming with 16 tuners I don't see this as a need.

Wally is the replacement for the 211 series of receivers. No release date has been announced for it. The H3 is expected to be released in a few days.

A Wally is a rebranded 211 series receiver with the hopper UI. It's isn't comparable with the hopper system. You can use in RVs or with a tailgater. Or if you have no hopper system.

Hmmm. But it's the same monthly cost as a Joey? I wonder how long THAT will last, if ever.

But the concept is a good one for those of use concerned about redundancy with the H3.

It's a modified 211Z to work with the Hopper3 "hub" as opposed to the old Hopper "node".
Actually the 211z doesn't work with nodes.
It's Dish Pro Plus technology.
If you want to use one of these with a Hopper system you need a separate DPP multiswitch, or an open space on your DPP lnb.

The Wally I'm told works with the new Hybrid LNB, and also DPP.
But still can't be used with a Hopper Hybrid setup.

So you can either have all Wallys, or a Hopper with Joeys on the Hybrid.

You can't use a super Joey with a Hopper 3. But you can use multiple Joeys/Wireless Joeys. Got the talk at shop yesterday in preparation . Saw some in the box.. :/

Just scheduled for H3 upgrade and one Joey 4K. I have a Hopper w/Sling and one Joey now. Upgrade fee is one time $50 and my bill will go up another $3/month. Also need to sign up for another 2 years.
I went directly to Dish website and am scheduled to get it this monday. Only two days away.

I set up my upgrade this morning for a H3 and 2 4k Joeys. They told me that the H3 would be free, but there was a one time fee of $50 for each Joey. I told the CSR , No, I am not paying for the Joeys. I will get back to you. I am going to relook at Direct TV again. She asked me to hold on and came back and said they would be free.
Why do they pull this crap with loyal 15 year customers?

There should be no fee for regular Joey. $50 fee is for 4K Joey. So you got a good deal.
