I got the following from Mike Kohl and he wanted me to pass it on.

Do you know anyone that would want a simulsat dish for free. They would only need to disassemble and truck away.

Located in California.

For more information please email Craig at cviar at executive-broadband.com

"...truck away" sounds ominous!

Are there LNBs out there that are wide band range to cover C, Ku, Ka, etc? How would one use this dish to get a particular orbital, say 103 C and 103 Ku?

Specialized feedhorns are used for these dishes. Available in single band or dual band configurations. View the feed options on the Simulsat website. They are not cheap!

Each feedhorn only illuminates an area that is approximately equivalent to the height of the reflector.

Disassemble with a crew and a crane. Definitely transport with a semi or LARGE flatbed.

I posted a thread many years ago about a Simulsat on Craigslist in Davis, California. We had a multi-post thread discussion.

I am 45 minutes away from Davis, CA. I am trying to imagine the look on my wife's face if I brought that thing home. :eeek
Ggrab a Google Maps image if you know where it would be... Street view... :)
