I ran into the same situation trying to download Heartland. The only way I get it to work is:How does this work? I was able to watch one episode of Hudson and Rex and now it says I have to subscribe.
I checked this and it does not show the earlier episodes of Season 1. I also reread the email and it says to go to channel 296, but I have no channel 296.I ran into the same situation trying to download Heartland. The only way I get it to work is:
1. Press search on remote
2. Enter in show name
3. Select program
Go in that way and it shows up free. Trying to access it thru On Demand method did not work for me.
No 296 for me either.I checked this and it does not show the earlier episodes of Season 1. I also reread the email and it says to go to channel 296, but I have no channel 296.
Sorry, but it is the other way around. The linear UP channel is not in free preview. The streaming Up Faith & Family is supposed to be in free preview this week. (9/1 - 9/7) However, channel 296 has not shown up (pun only partially intended) yet. It seems that these streaming previews are not fully baked yet.UP is in free preview this month. You probably watched a live episode and then tried to watch an On Demand episode, which is streaming and not free, but only $5.50 per month including tax.
It also says Channel 296 on the free preview slate on channel 103 (free previews channel). No 296 for me either.
Yeah, that is the collapsible channel to show all of the On Demand subscription (or in this case, free preview) channels. Each individual channel would have a two-digit extension, so 296-xx. The Free Previews page on the mydish website suspiciously does not list channel 296 though. It simply says "On Demand."It also says Channel 296 on the free preview slate on channel 103 (free previews channel).
My 103 is not collapsible or expandable. I have 2 channel 103s - one talks about the Hopper and other one is the free preview slate..... Weird. I am still using HWS. I think someone at Dish (who was supposed to authorize these free previews on our receivers) got their wires crossed.
I meant channel 296 is collapsible. It is also Hidden if you don't subscribe to any of the 296-xx channels there. That is why we were not seeing it. Someone at Dish forgot to turn on the preview for the actual guide channel numbers linked to these On Demand subscription services. That problem has been fixed this evening. I just finished binge watching the streaming episodes of Hudson & Rex. I enjoyed watching the episodes. Thank you Dish for giving us another free preview.
I discovered that DVR storage percentage has a mind of its own. I have seen what you discovered many times.Finished watching all 13 episodes of Season 1 and all 8 episodes of Season 2 of Hudson & Rex. I am surprised that my Hopper3 DVR storage remained at 69% despite storing 21 On Demand episodes. So the On Demand isn’t calculated on the percentage full.
Also when I deleted all 21 episodes of Hudson & Rex the storage stayed at 69%.
I am guessing that On Demand uses a separate partition of the hard drive.
I find that whenever I make any changes (such as deleting recordings) I usually have to wait until after the nightly reset the next day to see that percentage get updated.I discovered that DVR storage percentage has a mind of its own. I have seen what you discovered many times.
