SV 8000HD are prone to overheating, especially with these green boards. It may be a good idea to look on the web for some mod info about adding 1 or 2 60mm fans inside the STB case, since these boards were reported always ON by default if mounted. Again, turn Off LNBs on DN sats as suggested above, otherwise as I red you may have a problem even with FTA sats scanning and reception, assuming you have a motor.
were you able to load the sat list?
Did you try to use System Cleanup File before uploading the factory bin? .
nope, the loader loads it and says upload complete and when I check the list no difference.
bummer
as long as I can see FTA I'm good :up
well what I am doing now and its actually working good is just renaming all the DN sats to FTA sats (129w to 123w, etc) and setting up USALS manually with a strong transponder from the list and once I reach that location I save it.
Seems to be doing very good, already got most active CBAND/KU sats saved and HH120 motor is moving fine with it.
So I guess it wont be too bad for now, although it has a firmware I don't really like but heck as long as I can see FTA I'm good :up

What else you can do to restore your STB? Since you have 2 SV8000HD, try this:
1. Detach front USB Board from the 1-st unit and attach to the 2-nd - will take a few minutes, very easy and obvious, no soldering required;
2. Install "channel change error" fix bin via USB and reboot. It was mentioned somewhere as V505 or something - I didn't pay attention;
3. Install System Clean bin and reboot if asked;
4. Install System Restore bin and reboot;
5. Install New Factory bin.
If not cured, try installing something like V0211 UD_Error Package, which includes factory ROM and Bootloader files. Then install New Factory bin and you'll be hopefully ready to explore FTA.
A bit challenging, but interesting exercise.
Does anyone have the cleaner file? Could you post it here or in the review thread please? My box has a couple quirks and I'd like to start from scratch and see if that cures them.
There's a super not-so-secret key method of forcing the STB into recovery mode and pulling a factory file right off the USB as well.
