found a dvr for sale - need input

add said ir was an hd-dvr
the model number he gave me was
r16nc-500

i have swm w/ mrv

i think this is an sd dvr, and will not work? just want to verify

The R16 is indeed an SD DVR and most of them are leased so the ad is trouble all the way around.

not necessarily. Lots of R15 & R16's are owned. I picked up a R15 last August for $5 at goodwill and D* activated it

but to the OP the R16 is SWM compatible. It will work but not with MRV. You'll pay $20 for a new access card

Get the RID and axxess card numbers and you can call the accrss card dept. to check ownership. But from a H24 to a R16 would be a step baxkward.
