I stumbled on a amost year old story on FAST channels for FTA Ku band satellite!😎👍

It was from Intelsat's website.

let me know what you think of this story?:hatsoff

Here's the links...

Maybe that's why the WSOP channel has appeared on 97. AFAIK that's the only real North American FAST feed there. The rest are all international programming, and those seem to be disappearing faster and faster.

Very interesting. Finally, we have the answer as to why WeDo Big Stories is even on satellite, which I have been wondering about since it first appeared. Since then we have seen WeDo Amor, and just recently, World Poker Tour FAST channels added.

Personally, I would definitely like to see more FAST channels added to satellite, easier than using an app on my so-called Smart TV to access! Only additional thing I see that is needed, is an EPG for these channels.

Something that is not too clear: "WeDo Big Stories will also be incorporating an analytics layer to their channel which will give content providers data and value similar to distributing over IP. Amtecco, a leading innovator in media delivery and transcoding, will be adding a technology layer to monitor viewer analytics, something that traditionally could only be done through Pay-TV services and connected devices. This will provide real-time insights into audience demographics, viewing patterns, and content preferences, information historically unavailable in an open free-to-air environment."

Exactly how could they possibly get any data on viewing habits from our receivers, as this statement seems to suggest?

I think by plugging in your FTA recievers Via WI Fi or hard wired LAN to your internet gateway, like mine Edison FTA reciever to Xfinty gateway box.

I bet you the FAST channels is sending and telling FTA recievers to pass along to collect on viewers viewing habits, by how much time you are watching this particular station to Nelson rating or other competitors out there.

Should be pretty Interesting to see how's it plays out...😎👍 :hatsoff

Unless you want to download the new software to your current FTA recievers or some future new FTA recievers have already installed the software itself.

That of course depends on the FTA recievers manufacturers has the contract deal from the content providers out there...🤔 :hatsoff

Except that, I would think that would have to be in the receiver's software to begin with, and I can't see that being the case. Especially as our receivers (your Edision, and my Amiko and AZBox) are European receivers!
I seem to remember, when I had my Amiko Alien2 and Alien3, there was some mention of support for some sort of interactive channels that was used in Europe. I can't remember what it was called though. Something like HBB-TV? (Hybrid broadband?)
