There was small mention and some conjecture on their next receiver, in this thread three months ago.
The best comments were from SatelliteAV and Sadoun, both of whom would be more in the know.
I haven't seen anything solid since.
And a wish list of what we'd like to see is waste of time.
The last time an FTA company did a user survey of that we wanted, they were unable to bring the product to market for technical reasons.
So, it'll have whatever features it has, regardless what we want.
I'm sure it's already well along the design and manufacturing pipeline.

only thing that would give it a leg up is if it could blind scan dvb-s2 , guess it will never do 4:2:2

Sadoun has been talking about this coming Fortec receiver over on Satforums. 2-4 months out, dvb-s2 hd, blind search. We can only hope it happens. Yea, that is right....no 4:2:2
I had hopes for the fortec, we;ll see. if your all refering to the fortec passion NA, its been almost a year since fortec first put it on the website.
He says this is a totally different animal from the Passion. Maybe Sadoun will drop in and drop a few hints about features......

There is no point in even thinking about purchasing this thing if it doesnt support s2 blind scanning.
If it does, then I might think about it if the price is right. But that would mean giving up my pansat for this one.
It's after Xmas, and I am still wearing my Fool's Hat! -

Don't get me wrong. I'm ecstatic that Fortec Star is trying again!
So, I'm gonna try to have a New Year's resolution to not kick 'em while they're down.
... and I didn't use that P-word! -
edit: and in addition, I don't see anybody else coming out with any sort of interesting receiver.
So, I'm really rooting for Fortec.!.
