For those who cant be bothered with 2nites charlie chat.....

I like it. He mentions a la carte, how he'd like to provide it, how nobody in the industry is allowed to provide a la carte, and then claims Dish Network gives you the most choices (within those limits)

Krell,

Just like Dish allows me to get MSG HD, IFC HD, amongst others. Thanks for those choices Charlie.

Back in 1997 and for a few years thereafter the Charlie Chats were great to watch. Now they are just an informercial for the Dish Network. I been with Dish since early 1997 and I was told today that if I wanted to add another HD receiver to my home to replace a SD receiver that I would have to pay them $95 for them to run an wire under my house from the Dish switch to under the living room (a distance of perhaps 60 feet). It would be easy to do since you can walk under my house. Back in the late 1990's I helped over 100 family and friends install their Dish when the best we could get was the Top40 channels. Dish did not have anybody going around installing Dishes, we had to do it ourselves. Why can't they just send me the HD DVR 612 and let me install it and save myself $95? I sent the Charlie Chat an email and have not got a reply. I tried calling into the live program and since I wasn't in their planned program did not get to ask my question. Back in the old days, Dish customers could call in and get their questions answered.

About 2 years ago I talked executive resolutions (the ceo address) into shipping me two VIP612's for $25/ea rather than insisting on installing them. After accidentally shipping me two 622's by mistake, then made good and I got two brand new trouble-free 612's via UPS.
