Hi! First post on SatelliteGuys.us. Just joined the forum. New Dish subscriber since last Monday. Been a DirecTV subscriber for the last 11 years. Was a major participant in the DirecTV Cutting Edge Beta program with the HR20 DVR since 2006. So naturally, I felt I needed to jump into the latest technology on Dish and lease a 922.

So my first question is, with the new 109 software out today, is there a way to force on update on the 922?

No. I guess they are spooling to groups of 922s now like they do the other receivers.

So can the update happen at any time or only during your specified update time? How does that work?

Dish sends it to a group of receivers. All those get it and then the next group. I don't think each receiver in the group gets it on the same night. Could be wrong. It will come down from on high when it comes down from on high is all I know

Once your receiver is targeted you will get it within minutes of putting your receiver in standby.
