FIRST LOOK: Dish 500+ Dish 1000+ and the Dish 1000.2!

Has anyone noticed how the Dish 1000.2 has appeared on the set of both the last Tech Forum broadcast as well as the last Charlie Chat? I called in during the Tech Forum to ask about it's availability but the guy I spoke with after searching all the information he had available couldn't even acknowledge it's existence. Unfortunately, I saw the Dish 1000.2 on the set after I made the call right at the end of the broadcast.

My head is spinning after reading all of this. LOL

Current setup : Superdish w/ 105 and DP34. 921 (dual tuner) and a 301 in another room.

What I want : highest possible HD channels. So a Dish 1000 Plus with a DP44 Switch? That would include, 110,118,119,129 right? If I wanted to add a separate dish to get 61.5, what would I need? Wouldn't that equal FIVE connections, when the DPP44 only has FOUR. Or does 118/119 only use ONE connection for BOTH?

Thanks!

Use dish 1000.2 sat dish . IT has the ability to see 110/119/129 on it's triple lnb and they have a in port to add the side sat dish for 61.5 . Then you will see 4 satellites using one triple lnb and the dish 1000.2 and a side sat dish for 61.5. It also will allow you to run 3 different lines to the house. IF you use the dish pro seperator you can split the one coax into 2 sat coaxes for dual tuner receivers like the 522/625/622or even the 322. I am not sure about the 921 but you could call the tech department and see if you can use the seperator on the 921.

thanks for the reply.

Wouldn't it make sense to get the 1000 Plus instead, so I could get satellite 118 as well? Instead of having to upgrade down the road again. Is it possible to retreive all FIVE connections (61.5 -side dish,110.118,119,129) to a DPP44 switch and all be okay? If not, what would I need to achieve this? Thanks!

The dish 1000+ is the Dish 1000.2 with the special LNB to pick up 118.7, it is the same dish.

not tru, the 1000+ has a bigger well everything, the mass is bigger, the pole is beafed up, has 2 support arms, i think a longer arm.

specs: dish1000.2
1 5/8" mounting mast
19"h x 24"w dish face

dish1000+
* 1 5/8" mounting mast
* 23.8”h x 30.9"w dish face

I am sorry.Dish type:1000.2 .My receiver Coolsat 5000.
How can I setup my receiver Coosat 5000 to gets Sat 110,119,129?

That receiver can't get much of anything from those satellites. You can use that receiver to get FTA programming from lots of other satellites though. Check in the FTA forum.

Have DN and just got a HDTV, what do I need?
