Upon further testing the only setup that worked in 1080 for all sets was to used non compliant HDMI cable from H3 to the splitter input. This caused the H3 to work in 1080i & that was my old setup worked but no 4k to my 4k set.
I did try a compliant HDMI cable as an input but any set that wasn't compliant didn't work at all.
I'll do things manually without a splitter for now. The PQ using a compliant cable seems better on the 4k set that with an older cable.
