Finally Got Something From Dish

The OP may have been socked with a contract extension, as well. That is what makes it a worthwhile deal for Dish. Nothing unethical about it for those who think logically. It is simple business. (For those with an unhealthy emotional attachment to their sat provider, or any utility company, automobile marque, or even peanut butter, I suggest professional help, or the delusions will continue.)

Dish has offered the 811 lease deal for $50 and $100 from time to time too. The $200 deal is a worst-case scenario for the existing sub, they frequently bend on this if pressed.

Look at it this way, not only do they pick up another $15/month, but they also keep the existing level charges. So if he was paying $50/month for programming, is now paying $65/month, and stays for say another two years, then Dish collects $1560 and all they gave up was $50-$100 off of one of their standard deals.

Ya know there are a Hell of alot more important issues involving ethics than trying to get a good deal on a satellite receiver. Come on people this is TV!!! There is nothing wrong with trying to get the best deal possible from Dish network or any other company for that matter. I do think however Dish should be more consistent with there policies and not give so many different deals forcing people to play CRS roulette to get the best deal.
