Called dish today to complain once again about losing channels from 129 whenever the weather gets iffy. Spoke to a Specialist who confirmed with technical support that since I am on the east coast I should be on 61.5. Which only confirmed what I had been trying to tell dish for 6 weeks now.

She said they would upgrade me for $99. I said hold on here, you are telling me I should be on 61.5, your tech people are telling you I should be on 61.5, but your installer was too lazy to install two dishes so I ended up on 129. You need to wave the fee. She put me on hold again, came back in about two minutes and said they are waiving the fee and will be here on Saturday to install the Dish.

Final straw in all this was the wife complained again today about losing her shows when it wasnt even raining. Have to keep the wife happy you know :)

Got the 2nd dish put in today, but what a hassel.

Despite Dish approving it and sending in the work order, the installer did not know why he was at my house. When I told him, he balked. He kept insisting that it could not be the 129 bird, that it was my receiver. Well after he ruled that out, he said I must have crummy wire in my house, so I took him out to the closet where all the cabling is and showed him the top quality Belden cable my house was wired with. It wasn't good enough for him to read the cables label, no he had to cut one of the cables open to prove to himself I really did have good stuff.

Then he said it must be my switch not getting enough power, and he started to stick the cables on his tongue to feel the current. Thinking he found a bad connector, he tried to put a new one on while the switch was still getting power and started to arc the cable, it was sparking in his hands. I pulled the plug to the power supply and said I would prefer he does not short out my equipment.

Finally I said enough, that the extra dish was approved, its on my account, no more excuses get up on the roof and install the darn thing. He begrudgingly installed it, though he kept forgetting parts and had to go up and down the ladder many times to retrieve the tools and parts he kept leaving in his truck.

2 hours later I finally had him one his way and I now see 61.5 on my switch :)

I'm not surprised! I got a Tech coming tomorrow to install a new 612. He has to run a wire, I can't wait to see what the issue will be over that. All I can say is he better just do what he's supposed to without any BS.

No Mets on SNY-HD tonight; call to fix this! and ?

Use Dish Receiver at second location
