Maybe time to do a factory default setting and start again :(

Not familiar with that receiver, but if you look at the manual there will be a way to return the unit to factory condition.

Do you mean you entered the wrong channel information or are you saying you flashed the unit with software that does not work?

What channels are you hoping to get ?

any channels we can't pick up anything yet. this is going on fourth week!

what exactly did you do? Did you downaload new software in it (which shouldnt have been done) or something else?

All receivers have a factory reset in them. Probably under options or advanced options

we've got that strait now, about the factory set. it comes up on the sat unit 0001 what does that mean?

do you have to down load any files into the unit to pick up amything?

nope. The software that is with it works just fine.

You have to set it up via the antenna setup. The manual has that info. Since there are so few people with these its tough to help without more info.

So as I understand it, you have a 30" dish and the LNB.
Any switches?
Any motor involved?
Is there a particular channel or channels you're looking to get. Most people when they get FTA have an idea as to what they want.
I dont know if its been posted, but whats your zip? That way we can get you the angles to aim the dish at.

we live in rockingham ,north carolina , our zip code is 28379. we have a76cm dish with rotor which is a diseqc H-H motor , sg-2100 . we would like to pick up anything thats available

Your TS is AMC 5 @ 79W

In general terms you should start with your True South sat. Get the settings above for AMC 5 and aim for that first. One of the guys with more experience can give you a strong transponder for that bird.

what I would do is remove the motor for the time being so you can get the hang of aiming the dish.

AMC5 is close to your true south bird so I would aim there

AMC 5 79.0W 178.7 187.4 49.4 -1.1
translation to the above
dish should be at 50 for elevation
dish should be aimed a little west of staright south

Here are 2 transponders that are strong. If you can manually enter them, that would help

11742 freq
V polarity
11110 symbol rate

12182 freq
H pol
23000 symbol rate

I found your post that mentioned a standard LNB. Make sure it is set for standard (10750 LO frequency)
