Fiesta Bowl fires CEO amid internal report; BCS status in jeopardy - ESPN
The Fiesta Bowl released a scathing internal report Tuesday.

The reimbursements, listed as at least $46,539, are an apparent violation of state campaign finance laws and the charter that allows the Fiesta Bowl its nonprofit status. The Arizona attorney general's office is conducting a probe of the matter.

The BCS reacted swiftly, saying it would undertake an investigation of its own to "consider whether the Fiesta Bowl should remain a BCS bowl game or other appropriate sanctions."

The Fiesta board of directors voted unanimously to fire Junker "for his improper and inappropriate activities documented" in the report.
So this jackass has been using Fiesta Bowl money to buy politicians, and we wonder why we can't have a playoff system. Oh yeah, it's so the "student athletes" don't have to miss additional classes.

Good, time to bring back the Cotton Bowl into the BCS fold, at least then the host bowl for the Big 12 will actually be in a Big 12 State.

Besides, I spent last week in Phoenix, and there is NOTHING to do there in the wintertime, downtown was dead. Spring Ball was fun though. :D

I am torn on this. I hate the BCS, and I hate the Cotton Bowl being played at Jerry World. That having been said, the Cotton Bowl has always been "the game" that mattered to me on New Year's Day, and I would love to see it regain some of it's past luster.

Now it just needs to get moved back to New Year's Day!
:D

Anybody believe the Fiesta Bowl is the only college bowl fraud? Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl, ... I'll bet there's going to be a lot accountants scrutinizing the books over the next few weeks.
