FETV

This is probably going to be the last straw for me and Dish Network. I dropped Xfinity cable and signed up for Dish Network 3 years ago for mainly 2 channels: Cozi TV and FeTV. I love old classic programs and had been happy with Dish up until they dropped Cozi TV. And now with the threat of them dropping FeTV, I'm looking at DirecTV Stream, as they carry both channels.

I know a lot of the classic television programs are available on other platforms, ie, Pluto, Roku Channel, etc, but I liked the line-up on both channels and having them integrated into the satellite guide. I also realize FeTV is available on Frndly, but again, switching apps on my Roku for one channel here and one channel there is not as easy as having everthing under one roof.

Of all the channels they could do away with, the fact that they dropped or will be dropping both of my favorite channels will probably be the end for me and Dish.

If this is a carriage dispute, then it is the Network that will be denying Dish the opportunity to display their channel.

These things happen to every cable, satellite and internet carrier - they want more money and we think it's too much - it's a negotiation.

If you pick up your marbles and go home with every dispute, you will be most miserable.

We lost MeTV a couple of years ago. Cozi TV was yanked a few months ago, and now FETV is in danger of being pulled. These channels must not be covered by our annual price increase.
When Contracts come due .... most channels go down this road.
The channel wants more money whenever they get the opportunity.

In this case Dish is just the one that the channel shows up on.

When a channel is cut and was receiving a per sub fee, that increases profit for the provider.

So, if this Channel was receiving 10 cents per subscriber, MeTV was getting 25 cents, Cozi 15 cents, that is 50 cents a month, times 6 Million subscribers, is 3 Million a month they are no longer paying out, 36 Million a year.

Since Echostar has reported losses for the last three quarters, every cent counts.

As more negotiations come up, expect to see more channels go bye bye.
