external sling oversight? ? ?

Just tried out the HDMI cable with the Wireless Joey to the Slingbox and it works. During setting it up it does warn me there could be a HDCP issue for some programing. If you do get an external mount Slingbox spoiler1041, be advised that not all the Slingbox models have the HDMI connection. The Joey does not have component connections. I am done for the day. If there is anything you want me to try out or questions, catch up with you tomorrow.
Looks like some hdmi splitters will strip the hdcp so all content can be streamed.

Well, the OP did say " sling adapter."

Anyway, I have HWS for DishAnywhere access that is most often sufficient, but also have a Slingbox connected to it. This allow two different connections (for two different people) at the same time. The DishAnywhere access occurs in the background not at all readily apparent to any user of that HWS nor interfering with the Slingbox connection with the Slingbox access occurring is in the foreground just as if you were in the room.

I am overall pleased with Dish Anywhere, but it can be cumbersome, but it does not take over the box at home, but Slingbox does allow all access like at home such as accessing external HDD's, but the compromise is that it takes over the Hopper or Joey at home. Let's also remember that the built-in Sling technology boxes does perform transfers to mobile devices, a powerful tool in itself; Slingbox does not.

Is the splitter just dropping the hdcp, is the splitter actually providing the handshake or is the TV on one leg of the splitter providing the handshake?

Don't really remember. Hooked it up a year or more ago and haven't looked at it since. I don't have a Hopper. I use it with 722 and Tivo to occassionally archive a few things with Hauppauge hdpvr2. ViewHD VHD-1x2MN3D from amazon is one recommended to me at AVS

Already ordered but....... is it true that 40% of desktop is covered by ads?

I like the Slingbox virtual remote control in my laptop, can get to the EHD, and it works much smoother.
The remote is what drives me crazy. Dish anywhere is all touch screen.

Still glad the wife and I can now watch our own stuff when out of town. I'll be the one left figuring the box out though. :)
